I should be finding poems right now online for my creative writing class, but small manual hatchbacks are more interesting.

Chevy wants $1000 for a stage kit good for 10 horsepower and 15 ft-lbs of torque. What? I mean sure it’s dealer installed with a warranty and a different exhaust system, but $1000??

Dealer installed performance exhaust? I think $1000 is pretty good. You’ll probably pay that to have a standard exhaust replaced on any modern car.

Driven

The sun hasn’t risen yet
the black hatchback opens up on the Lee Bridge
in the rear view mirror the city shrinks minuscule
as I forge forward at a steady pace of fifty
No matter where My destination is
the reason is always the same
escape
like a thief in the night
trying to put some distance between me, myself, and I
daydreaming ceaselessly as traffic flows on every side
the front tire has a slow puncture
the door panel barely hanging on
in much need of an oil change
driving alone below the aspersions cast by unwanted eyes
as the rain slowly comes down to blind and cleanse
I never got to say half of the things I wanted
and I know that I won’t write half of the words inside me
so I’m impatient
laying on the horn
and flipping old ladies on their way to church the bird
faces not seen enough to be memorized
hands not felt
laughter never shared
these things haunt me
holding their flickering candles to the bottom of my feet
Driven now
the sun hasn’t come up yet
which is good
because before it does
I have some things that I need to do

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want to autocross there’s a reason more people would rather start with an ST.

For what it’s worth, the NPP dual mode exhaust option was $895 or something on the Camaro. Worth every penny.

I’m about two sentences into a thousand word essay for my ‘Guilt and Redemption in Modern Literature’ module at uni. I’m still here commenting on your Oppo post.

I’ve never really seen the appeal of the Sonic, to be honest, but that might have something to do with Chevrolet no longer existing in the UK, and the fact that the Sonic’s segment - what we’d call, ‘superminis’ - is literally the most competitive in the entire UK car market. Everyone sells one.

Over here that segment is pretty sad to be honest. We have:

Chevy Sonic

Ford Fiesta

Hyundai Accent

Kia Rio

Honda Fit

Nissan Versa Note

Toyota Yaris

Erm, I think that’s about it. The Fiesta is the only one with a true performance model.

There's a difference between overrated and faster. Overrated is a matter of opinion, faster is an objective measurement.

Someone who thinks a car is overrated isn’t going to care how much faster it is. Especially if said person thinks the interior is a horrendous mixture of shapes and design and the exterior looks like a fish on top of it being overrated in the first place.
